Characteristics of 25VQ Series Vane Pumps
Inlet Pressure
* Recommended inlet pressure: 0 to 0.34 bar (0 to 5 psi) gauge pressure.
* Inlet pressure must not exceed 20 psi.
* Inlet vacuum must not exceed 0.17 bar (5″ Hg or 12.2 psia).
Rated Pressure
The pump should not operate at or near rated pressure for extended periods at idle speed. This may cause localized overheating or damage.
Drive Alignment
Shaft concentricity and angular alignment are critical to pump life. Misalignment may induce heavy loads on bearings, leading to premature failure. The two halves of the flexible coupling must be aligned as recommended by the coupling manufacturer.
Universal Joints
When using a double universal joint coupling, the shafts must be parallel and the drive yokes must be collinear. Deviations should be minimized as much as possible. The maximum allowable deviation will, of course, vary with application conditions. The radial fit between the pump shaft and universal joint should be tight (large-diameter fit) with no looseness.
